Failed Resume from Suspend on Asus Zenbook NX500JK

When I type

systemctl suspend

my laptop appears to suspend to ram, but will not resume and instead boots normally. I am using kernel 4.15.12-1-ARCH and am booting UEFI with the grub bootloader.  I have also tried the latest -lts kernel and had the same issue.
