Hi there,
After an update, I'm getting the error:
error: missing 'poppler-qt' dependency for 'kfilemetadata4'
I have no kfilemetadata4 installed, but kfilemetadata (5.44.0-1), and no poppler qt, but poppler-qt5 (0.63.0-1). What's wrong? Any ideas?
Thanks.

You're getting that error *where*? Post the exact command you're running and the full output

Hi,
I get this error everytime I update the system or install a package:
yaourt -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
multilib is up to date
archlinuxfr is up to date
error: missing 'poppler-qt' dependency for 'kfilemetadata4'
When I use pacman, no error message:
sudo pacman -Syu

extra is up to date
community is up to date
multilib is up to date
archlinuxfr is up to date

there is nothing to do

archlinuxfr is up to date
Start with removing that repo from pacman.conf , it gives much more trouble then benefit.
other then that, post pacman -Qm please

So this
I have no kfilemetadata4 installed
is clearly false

kfilemetadata4 is nor in the official repos neither the AUR.
poppler-qt4 has been removed from the repos. I think your problem has something to do with this removal.

dicaiopolis,
glad to see you only used archlinuxfr for yaourt (not a good idea, but something many unofficial guides recommend) .
The list contains some AUR packages, but the majority are packages that were present in archlinux offical repos in the past.
They've been removed from the repos without you noticing it.
Kfilemetadata4 is one of them.
Your system needs a thorough spring cleaning.
Go through the list of packages in pacman -Qm, remove those you don't remember installing.
If they're needed for something else, pacman will tell you.
After you've done that, run pacman -Qdt and check everything on that list.
most of it can probably be removed also, those you do want can be changed to "explicitly installed" (check man pacman)
In the end pacman -Qm should only contain AUR packages you want/need and their AUR dependencies.
pacman -Qdt should be empty.
If remove everything you don't rember Start with running pacman -Qdt .
It lists so-called orphans
