MATLAB failing to draw figures.

Upon a recent pacman -Syu, I have been having issues with MATLAB. First one, I solved with the following thread; https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=231299

Now I am having a weird issue when I try to draw plots, MATLAB hangs with nothing in the java logs. The GUI becomes unresponsive and the figure window is ungraphable.

The following things have been unsuccessful

* MATLAB version of java
* Openjdk 8
* MATLAB version 2017b vs MATLAB 2018a

This has been successful

* Switch to software opengl.

So I think this is opengl related. However I can;t find a single error or crash report with any relevant information. Can anyone help out?

( I am using MATLAB 2018a, with java-8-openjdk)

Re: MATLAB failing to draw figures.

I am also on 2018a and have not found any issues with plotting, with hardware opengl set on. However, I have deleted the shipped binary library to force matlab to use system version libraries, and maybe this somehow helps. Specifically you could do as the matlab page on Arch Wiki says.
