Hi,
I noticed a weird bug on a latest Chromium (65.0.3325.181-5), system is fully upgraded, no customization to kernel et cetera is applied. Sometimes, during the page being somehow manipulated - e.g. scrolling, video playback or video call, the screen freezes until I press some button (moving a mouse doesn't help). When I do so, the page "updates", meaning that it jumps to a given place corresponding to a scroll size or updates the video. So it seems it's only "view" which freezes, not the backend.
I tried it in a incognito mode to rule out any influence of addons and I also tried Google Chrome - the results are same.
E.g. Firefox doesn't do this and I don't experience issues in any other app. Running Chromium from commandline and checking the output also doesn't signify anything.
Any idea what may be going on?
Thanks

Good tip, but I have Thinkpad 460s with i7-6600U and without dedicated graphics.

Ok, then (nvidia+chromium and others has an epic thread) you should elaborate on the actual setup - next to the GPU the display server (X11, wayland), desktop session/compositor and used drivers etcetc.

Had the same issues with chrome. In my case I use compton-git as compositor. Switching from glx to xrender seems to solve this issue.
EDIT: compton with glx and vsync="opengl" also works for me.

Hey! Thanks, yeah, compton is the one doing issues! I will try opengl vsync variant, but so far xrender as well as glx is doing the same.

I'm also having the same issue at chromium, i've installed compton to get some transparency to my bars ( i3 ) and this "freezing until click" started to showing.
My laptop has Intel Celeron N2808 and integrated intel GPU..
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Atom Processor Z36xxx/Z37xxx Series Graphics & Display (rev 0e)
Edit : Changing glx to xrender on compton config fixed my freezing issues, thanks!
