When I hit properties > share on a directory in Konqueror all I get is the "configure file sharing" button, I have set up samba and "simple" file sharing via Kcontrol but I still get only the "configure file sharing" button when I try to share a folder. I had a similar problem (on gentoo) with 'fileshareset' not being suid root but this is different, no errors just no options in the dialog. My shares (transfered smb.conf from gentoo install) are visible on the network I just can't change / add shares from KDE.

Now solved, seems that the filesharing group MUST be called 'fileshare' despite being able to change it in the control centre module. I am guessing it is mentioned in one of the perl scripts.
