WWAN setup

I have a Dell latitude E7240 which has support for plugging in a sim card and use WWAN. Now I tried just plugging the sim card in and it didn't work. Also I didn't find an explanation on how to set this up on the wiki. So, my question is:
How can I set up WWAN on my laptop? Do I need any tool like wpa_supplicant, and if so, how do I do it?

Thanks in advance smile

(Not 100% sure if this is the right place to ask...)

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan
