Arch 64 hiccups and woes

Hi all,

last night, I tried to follow the wiki page about the arch64 installation; the ISO was, however, nowhere to be found (a webpage with the message "no matching packages" is loaded, maybe the link is broken, whatever).  Assuming that this was a temporary issue, I continued with pacman.static to the point of getting a system up and running till now.

While this system now runs great, I can't lose the feeling it misses some things.

1) Yelp, the gnome help browser, dies everytime in seconds after opening a window; strace exhibits a SIGSEGV:

read(28, "GIOP1211$", 12) = 12
read(28, "x25534423311f11111"..., 36) = 36
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) ---
write(3, "3322", 8) = 8
write(3, " 22", 8) = 8
write(3, "+21", 4) = 4
read(3, "123737/2Lqv"..., 32) = 32
clone(child_stack=0, flags=CLONE_CHILD_CLEARTID|CLONE_CHILD_SETTID|SIGCHLD, child_tidptr=0x2aad16733250) = 3095
wait4(3095, [{WIFEXITED(s) && WEXITSTATUS(s) == 0}], 0, NULL) = 3095
--- SIGCHLD (Child exited) @ 0 (0) ---
exit_group(1) = ?
Process 3083 detached

is this known? what am I missing?

2) All repos starting with arch64.org return a 404 upon each package; so I had to use the others... so I knew I could get problems with that (mentioned on the wiki page). I also noticed a relatively fresh (July 13th) x64_64 directory, and figured this was the old (now disappeared) one in a new place to get it in line.

3) Evolution seems botched, though I cannot for the life of me figure out why I cannot create new contacts or tasks or calendar entries. Mail is getting read though.

Are these things normal? Is it just me? Maybe someone here can give me some pointers about it. Thanks for your time

:?

PS. This is not an attack on andy; i know you are working on the repos. This is just me trying to get my machine right -- no bitching intended.

Re: Arch 64 hiccups and woes

Hi. Forget the old www.arch64.org domain and its repos. We took it offline and redirect to archlinux.org where our new home is.

New isos are for testing available. See ISO thread here and our mailing list. If you have problems - let's meet in #archlinux64 ;-)
