Re: Looking for bookmark software

I use Google Bookmarks.

I have 2 links in the bookmarks sections, the link to google bookmarks, and the google bookmarklet. Easy as pie.

If you need a google account, say so.

Re: Looking for bookmark software

The main problem I had with bookmarks is that when I was switching to a new computer or reinstalled, I always lost my bookmarks or had different ones depending on the computer I was on.

I then tried Flock which allows to use del.icio.us or shadows.com to keep your bookmarks. It it good but flock still needs a bit of work.

But recently I found Google Browser Sync.
It's an extension for Firefox that maintains your bookmarks. You just install it on all your computers and they will sync all the time. Works #1. That is the option I use currently.

Re: Looking for bookmark software

I don't like del.icio.us plugin for firefox is not an option since it doesn't support adding bookmarks and it's not well integrated in the browser. Didn't try the shadows one thought

Re: Looking for bookmark software

I didn't know that Google had a bookmark system... it's really nice. I think I should start using that... I already thought of migrating my local bookmarks to some bookmark service so I can access them from university and elsewhere too.
With the bookmarklet it's a breeze to add new ones.

Re: Looking for bookmark software

http://del.icio.us/ is by far the best online option.

And if you don't like the plugin, just add them manually?

I use del.icio.us everyday with the official firefox extension from http://del.icio.us/help/firefox/extension . If you right click in a webpage or on a link you'll see that there's an option to tag that page/link and a new window will open and let you save it. I also use the "Bookmarks Synchronizer SE" extension to upload and download my bookmarks from several machines to my ftp / network share / http(s) server
