no consoles on install

folowed the instruction for the CD install
but no
Alt-F5 console could be found

Tried 3 installs same result


Off to using Peanut and Slackware, no hard feelings but I need my CD to burn, PDA and scanner to connect and arch won't do it.

cannot confirm anything of this except that the docs do mention alt-f5. however, mentioning it here is pointless really as those with the power to fix this issue are not regulars. file a bug report.

fixed sort of...
it was a laptop problem
the right ALT is listed as the ALT key
but in fact under arch the ALT key is the left ALT key

Yes, it has to be left alt.  It's a kernel thing.

You can also change VCs with alt-left and alt-right, but it still has to be left alt.
