Plymouth fall backs to the default theme on boot

Hey, so I installed plymouth, downloaded a theme, I've set it and then ran mkinitcpio -P, the theme works fine on shutdown but plymouth will use the default theme on boot.
I installed plymouth from AUR and the theme's package name is

plymouth-theme-aperture-git

I don't know what logs should I post so just tell me and I'll post them

Edit: The issue came back.

Re: Plymouth fall backs to the default theme on boot

Somehow doing a full system upgrade fixed it even though the updated packages weren't in any way connected to plymouth.

Ok it's getting weird, it worked this time, but it didn't before, I'll try again
