I have a few questions...
I would like to Dualboot Windows XP and Arch Linux all on 1 drive.
But I have 4 hardrives with important data on each ... therefore i decided to put it on 1 drive.. my question is could i potentially damage 1 of my 4 important drives during setup? If there is a possibilty could i just unplug them until my archlinux installation is finished?
had arch on a laptop with one drive and it was fine but now that im trying it on my desktop things are tricky..

yes, if you're afraid of damaging your data disks, unplug them and replug them when the system is set up.
All of your mips are belong to us!!

No, you'll be fine, just so long as you are sure which drive is which when you're doing the setup. That is, you'll be given names like hda1, hda2, hdb1, hdb2, etc. You need to be sure which of those is the hard drive you want to install on.
I can't even remember what the Arch linux installer is like because I only used it once (and that was 18months ago). As I had been using Linux prior to installing Arch, I knew in advance which drive I wanted to install in (in linux hdX terms). If you want to be sure, slip in Archie or knoppix and see how your current drives map to the Linux /dev/hdXX tree.

Would recommend you keep linux and windows on separate disks (as you already have more than one) so when one disk fails you don't lose both OS's.
Windows should ideally be on hda and if you boot from Linux on hdb with grub, you won't have to interfere with the MBR on hda (ie you can then boot from each disk independently).

@Substance: It depends how your router is set up, check it's settings to see if DHCP is enabled. Or run a DHCP client under your current environment and see what happens.
