Noting that security in Linux is becoming very much hot button item, would it be possible for a Security sub forum?
I know there is Networking, Server, and Protection, but the description implies a fairly narrow focus on a server communications
.... communications security (firewall, ssh) issues
I was thinking something more broad-based of interest to the casual user, where we can seek advice and discuss general hardening and the various the approaches to security like MAC's, DAC's, Access Lists, Sandboxes, various combinations thereof along with associated policies and profiles.
I realise that a sub-forum of this nature has the potential to attract a lot of opionated posts, but I think the idea is still worth discussing.

It has the potential to attract lots of offtopic posts.
Experiments with adding additional specialised subfora have fared badly in the past; most people seem incapable of reading the stickies, the forum descriptions or any of the other helpful hints. I don't see how a Security board would be anything other than a management overhead for the staff.

While I think the idea is worth discussing, that basically sums up the main drawback.
Generally, when researching various security related topics, I get a lot of useful Google hits for the Wilders Security Forums. They seem to have a lot of interesting threads, and joining that forum may be appropriate.
Still, there was no harm in putting the idea up for discussion
