Devices auto-mounting doesn't work any more [SOLVED]

Hi! wink

Till today, when I connected a device such as CD-ROM and USB Storage device a window
poped up and asked me if I want to mount the device, and mounted it if I asked so.

The devices (USB stick, CDROM) wasn't defined in /etc/fstab, hal and dbus were running.

Today, when I connect such a device, the popup window is unable to mount to device.
It says: "mount: can't find /dev/hdd in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab".

The only thing I can think of that I've done today that can cause this is the upgrading
of the kernel (while "pacman -Syu").

I don't want to define each device in fstab, I want them to be auto-detected and auto-mounted.

What's the problem? What can I do?
Thanks,
Itay.

itayf, It's not just you. kernel 2.6.17.5 is broken and gave me the same hal problems.
In the meantime, try the beyond kernel. smile
