Internet Not Working

Hi,
First off, this is probably a really stupid question because I'm new to Linux, but my ethernet connection isn't working.

When I ping archlinux.org, it spits this back at me:
ping: archlinux.org: Temporary failure in name resolution

Any ideas? I'd really like to get this working smile

(PS: I'm new to linux/arch, so if you have any recommendations on things I should read/do to get better, feel free to let me know).

Re: Internet Not Working

Welcome to the arch linux forums Lyfe.  Is the issue in the installation environment or on the installed system.  If the latter did the ethernet connection function during installation correctly
and did you configure the interface to be used in the installed system?

Re: Internet Not Working

I've already installed the system (worked through the WikiHow tutorial), but I haven't set up a GUI yet. I'm not sure if ethernet was set up when I set up the system, but I know that the install worked, so if internet is required for that then yes, it was working.

Recommendation: don't follow random unsupported guides.

Read the wiki.  In this case, this page in particular:

Re: Internet Not Working

As Trilby points out, Don't use random tutorials.  You did indicate that you used the wiki, so let's assume for a moment that was the primary method.  What have you told us? Wired or Wireless?  What are you using to control your network?  What method did you configure?

Re: Internet Not Working

This is wired, and I figured out that if I type sudo systemctl start dhcpcd@enp2s0, the issue is fixed until I restart the system. Any way to get this to stay fixed permanently?

Ensure to get familiar w/ the wiki and especially the installation process you should have followed itfp.

Re: Internet Not Working

Sudo systemctl enable dhcpcd@enp2s0.service

Starting a service under systemd does not enable it.

The arch install procedure is very well documented and up to date. As Seth mentioned,  third party ones are not. I always follow the arch procedure and have never had an issue.
