[SOLVED] How to switch tty without alt key?

My alt keys suddenly stopped working today, and I usually use tty2 for watching movies from terminal with mpv, as fullscreen videos on X hang for some unknown reason.

Is there a way to change tty2 without using the alt key?

Couldn't get a file descriptor referring to the console

Does the fact I'm running X have anything to do with this?
