Libre Office spellcheck weirdness

I have 3 computers

1) Arch Linux laptop
2) Windows 10 laptop
3) Chakra Linux desktop

The spell check in all these three works differently under Libre-Office
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Problems on Laptop 1 (Arch)
----------------------------------------
Spell check dialog box on LibreOffice shows a empty "Language" dropdown
System Settings->Regional Settings->Language has [American English, British English]
System Settings->Regional Settings->Spell Check->Default Language dropdown has [C, <hebrew characters>]
Spell check fails in all applications

rep ~  $ locale
LANG=en_IN.US-ASCII
LC_CTYPE="C"
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_PAPER="C"
LC_NAME="C"
LC_ADDRESS="C"
LC_TELEPHONE="C"
LC_MEASUREMENT="C"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="C"
LC_ALL=C

Problems on Desktop(Chakra Linux)
--------------------------------------------------

Libre-Office spell check works, but it won't underline spacing errors (two spaces between words)
I have checked and unchecked the relevant "Ignore spacing" checkbox in the spell check settings, to no avail

Windows Laptop
-----------------------
Libre Office spell check works perfectly (surprisingly!)

How do I fix the issues on the Linux machines?

Thanks in Advance

There is no such locale as “en_IN.US-ASCII” shipped with Arch Linux. There is also no point in using US-ASCII encoding in 2018. Setting up locale is described in the Wiki.

I guess you are missing dictionaries too. See the hunspell-* packages.

Unofrunately I couldn’t find Microsoft’s IRC channel or their guide on uninstalling Windows. wink
