[solved] qmmp 1.2.1 auto-hiding playlist window on KDE

Is it possible to disable qmmp auto-hiding its playlist window on KDE when the app is inactive? That is new and unwanted behavior in 1.2.1. Unfortunately I see no way to turn this off, either in qmmp's or in KDE's settings. The 1.2.1 change notes talk about "fixed kwin support", so I assume that explains this new feature. Other window managers like fvwm are not affected.

P.S. Maybe I should add that I am talking about the skinned, WinAmp-stytle qmmp interface here.

Hi, I have this same problem and found this thread from a search. Very annoying and I don't know what made this start happening.

Re: [solved] qmmp 1.2.1 auto-hiding playlist window on KDE

Hi, Cknight70! It seems to be a code change in the 1.2.1 release. Since there is no easy fix, I simply downgraded to qmmp 1.2.0-2 for now. Perhaps a bug report should be filed with the qmmp developers, but I have not done that so far. They should really make this new window hiding behavior configurable.

Re: [solved] qmmp 1.2.1 auto-hiding playlist window on KDE

Okay, I just looked into this, apparently it has already been reported:

https://sourceforge.net/p/qmmp-dev/tickets/958/

In KDE system settings Window management>Window Behavior>Click advanced tab and uncheck hide utility windows for inactive applications. This fixed it for me. smile

EDIT: Unfortunately though, this also makes my auto hiding panel with a clock on it reappear every time I click on a different window... I will have to see how to fix this too.

Thanks, it works. That is the setting I was trying to find in KDE's settings but could not.
