[Solved] Hotkey action on key release instead of key down

Straightforward question I suppose,

Is it possible to have XFCE4 action on a key release instead of when the key is pressed down?

I have the Super key to open the Whisker menu, but I'd like to use the Super as modifier for other hotkeys as well, like Super+L to lock, or the default Super+P for Display Settings. The way it works now is that when I press Super down, it immediately opens the Whisker menu, then I press another button and it acts on that too.

Basically, I don't think I want any modifier key to be acted on until I release it but if I can change the Super, that would be, well, super .

Long running discussion in this upstream Xfce bug report.

In the meantime, you can try using something like ksuperkey.

Thanks for that.

Funny how much one can search for something and not run into that bug report.

I'll check ksuperkey. I've used that in the past on KDE but didn't think it would be useful on other DE's.
