VMWare unable to enable video acceleration

I understand that this probably isn't a arch-related issue, but i'd figure that i'd post it here anyways,

Upon starting minecraft, I get the following java return;

I'm assuming that "OpenGL: ~~ERROR~~ RuntimeException: No OpenGL context found in the current thread." would be the most important. I've installed the VMWare drivers via the arch repos, and OpenJDK8; also from the repos
This is more or less a java-related issue.

Looking deeper into it, everything is installed and it should work just fine on a normal arch system- however, VMWare workstation player won't let me enable 3D Video acceleration for whatever reason. If anyone has any idea what's going on, help would be appreciated.

So, you are running Arch Linux in a virtual machine in VMWare? Can Arch Linux access the 3D capabilities of a video card through a virtual machine?

Did you install Minecraft by using the package in the AUR?

yes and yes, it's probably something wrong with VMWare, i've installed the libraries, yet I can't tick the "enable 3d acceleration" box when booting the VM machine.

output of glxinfo | grep -i opengl ?

Does /dev/vmmon exist ?

The DIR specified does not exist on my system, and I don't know what package "glxinfo" is part of, as far as I'm aware, it's part of mesa, which is installed, but no glxinfo.

Regarding glxinfo, a quick search would have led you here.

That suggests the setup in the VM is incorrect, also add dmesg or journalctl and xorg log.
