I installed Arch on the new Alienware 15 R2, everything works fine (it seems to run cooler than windows, which is really nice!) except for the audio output when headphones are plugged in. The audio keeps going out through the internal speakers and not via the analog audio jack.
I've tried the suggestion on the wiki but it didn't work.
lspci indicates the sound device as
00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H HD Audio (rev 31)
The card is a Creative Sound Blaster Recon3Di.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!!

I currently have a Creative Sound Blaster Titanium XFi HD in my desktop computer. In `pavucontrol` the device can be used to switch between a 'Headphones' output or a 'Speaker' output. Possibly you could try changing the output in any pulseaudio controller.

I am too facing the similar issue with my alienware 15r2.
Tried the solution mentioned here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … _15#Issues but didn't work.
In `pavucontrol` it shows that headphones are plugged-in but sound comes through the internal speakers only.

Batou recently dug up a promising driver, you might want to check https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p1783101 for directions on how to set it up.
Edit: Aforementioned patches are coming to 4.18: http://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kern … 04044.html
