Re: [SOLVED] How to set up touchpad

That looks correct.   What happens if you disconnect the mouse?

Re: [SOLVED] How to set up touchpad

When I unplug mouse mouse cursor just stops working and when I plug mouse back mouse pointer work again. Touchpad don't work at all, even when I start X without mouse and plug mouse in.
I start X session by startx from terminal and use lxde by default, but have a few other desktop enviroments.

Re: [SOLVED] How to set up touchpad

I do not know if this is the same problem, but right now, just since the KDE update to 5.13, Synaptics (SynPS/2) touchpad drivers are not being recognized by libinput.  I haven't yet ironed-out the problems with this 2014 Dell Inspiron 15 7000 yet, but here is a link to some kernel parameters: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Li … uchpad_KCM

Re: [SOLVED] How to set up touchpad

lsmod | grep psmouse

In case it's loaded, try passing

psmouse.synaptics_intertouch=0

to the kernel parameters.

Re: [SOLVED] How to set up touchpad

What I want to try is this.  Do a sudo od -Ax -x /dev/input/mouse0 and move your finger around on the touch pad, and try clicking the pad as well.  The screen may echo a bunch of hexadecimal data  in response.  If not, kill it with ctrl-c and try it with mouse 1.  Does this work for either of the mouse dev nodes?

Re: [SOLVED] How to set up touchpad

Thanks ewaller, it works!
I thought that my touchpad is dead, but it's not. I have win7 system installation on the same laptop and there touchpad also don't worked, but I remembered that it did. I figured out that it was just turned off by Fn+F7 shortcut. Than when I enabled him it also work in linux without problem, even with mouse.

I do something like sudo od -Ax -x /dev/input/mouse0 and:
mouse0, event6 devices are for touchpad
mouse1, event12 devices are for mouse
mice device work with both touchpad and mouse simultaneously
event6 and event12 work "somewhat faster"
event4 is for keyboard

Also I try it with sudo cat /dev/input/mouse0 :-)

Once more thanks. That was funny and educational for me.
