I noticed since glibc 2.27 update on testing repos, my archlinux based system freezes randomly.
Freeze could happen after 10 minutes or 3 hours
I deactivate testing repositories, downgrading packages and everything works back.
Here is my inxi -F output :

Maybe an incomplete rebuild against glibc 2.27 ?

Now that glibc 2.27-2 is in core has the issue occurred again on your system?

Until linux 4.17 is released, I will use an old nvidia card. Looks like it was kinda related to linux 4.16.3 as linux 4.16.4 gets a lot of modifications for amdgpu.

Getting random freezes made my computing life horrible. Until linux 4.17, my GPU will be deactivated.

I would suggest testing linux-lts with the amd GPU to prove glibc 2.27 is not the cause and 4.17-rc4 when it is released to see if 4.17 has resolved the issue
that would give you at least three release candidates to work with upstream on locating the cause should the issue still remain.

The only problem is that my Ryzen is not supported at all - for its GPU - with last LTS kernel. I noticed bugs happened with linux 4.16.3, not 4.16.2. I'll wait for 4.17-rc4/rc5 to test it more.
But for now, I only want a stable and working computer. Thanks for the tip anyway.

I definitely understand wanting a system that is stable and fulfils your requirements.

4.17 fixes a LOT of Ryzen iGPU issues. I'm actually using a self-compiled kernel and it's working great for me. Look at the following bug for the patch that fixed my random hard hangs.

Got random freezes with linux 4.17... Ouch! After some researches, it looks like all will be good with Mesa 18.2.x... Only time will tell.

Hi, do you still have issues?

I did not try since my last message. I will try asap. I'm on holiday for a few days, far away from my PC. I will try as soon as possible .
