Edit: Solved. pdflatex was complaining that something in ~/.texlive was made with an old version, and for some reason texmaker did not properly display the error
Hi,
I have the problem that Texmaker is not working with the newest texlive-bin 2018.47465-2.
It says it can not start pdflatex.
As soon as I install the old texlive-bin (2017.44590-14) it starts working again.
No idea what is happening, pdflatex is in path and is starting fine in terminal. When manually pointing it to the full /bin/pdflatex in the Texmaker config the same problem happens.
Do you have any idea what might be going on here?
Thank you!

Is it really using ~/.texlive and not ~/.texlive2018 or ~/.texlive2017? If so, that seems problematic, although you can always delete this directory if you need to.
[Note that this is not the same as ~/texmf, which obviously shouldn't be deleted under normal circumstances.]
