ARccOS-encrypted DVDs

Is it possible in any way to view them?

Neither MPlayer, nor Xine, nor VLC is able to play it. DVD menu etc. works, film starts, but after some seconds it hangs.

Other DVDs (CSS encrypted or unencrypted) work fine.

Re: ARccOS-encrypted DVDs

The only thing I can think of is using some decrypting software and copying the DVD to your hard drive - problem is, the only software I've ever found that does that is Windows only.

Of the decrypting software I've heard about, DVDDecrypter and DVDFab (both free) should work through Wine.  Good luck, though - I've given up and just use AnyDVD in *shiver* Windows.

[side note]Yeah, that's the problem with DRM - even though you legally have every right to watch the DVD on your computer, you can't because the movie companies are so worried about piracy... *withholding self from rant*[/side note]
