I have noticed today that my Canon MG2410 printer, which used to work fine for the past year or so, does not want to print anymore.
Instead of printing the pdf file, it prints horizontal lines on the whole sheet.
Interestingly, some pages are printed like that whereas others are printed fine.
I am using cups, usually I print using lpr.
The Test Page itself prints horizontal lines.
I have tried:
- to downgrade the libcups, cups, cups-filters, lib32-cups packages
- to upgrade them to the latest version
- to change the default sheet size in the printer default options
- to remove/replace the cartridges
I have these two drivers installed:
cnijfilter-common-mg2400 4.00-2
cnijfilter-mg2400series 4.00-2
Last update of them was 2 years ago.
I don't know if it could help in finding the culprit between CUPS and the printer itself, but when I issue a
lpr -P pdf_printer my.pdfthe resulting pdf is fine.
I am really at a loss here.
