I have a bitcoin core qt wallet that I want to start by clicking on it, I did chmod +x for an executable, but when I click on it I get 'Choose Preferred Application' dialog.
Other executables like .appimage and bash scripts are working. I tried to search pcmanfm config files, but couldn't find the file associations anywhere in them.
---
For some reason the executable isn't recognised as such, it has 'shared library' filetype (and different icon) other wallets I have have either executable or shared library filetype.

Can I pass -no-pie to gcc during compilation with make or cmake? Also what -pie is needed for?

https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/a … 28405.html covers what pie is being used for.
