[SOLVED] No Soundcards found

Hello all,

Last night compiled a new dwm install and got everything working including sound. Shut the lid and awoke this morning to no sound. Have been doing a lot of research on the wikis and on the forums but cannot find anything that works. Hoping for some of you to review my outputs on some commands to see if you spot something I am missing.

Output of lsmod | grep snd

output of aplay-l

aplay: device_list:272: no soundcards found...

when running amixer getting:

Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory

As I said was working fine last night and now nothing - really cannot determine what occured. Let me know if you need anything further.

Re: [SOLVED] No Soundcards found

The only real symptom you've shared is that the card was no longer detected after the "lid close".  Does lid closure result in suspending, hybernating, etc?

Is this repeatable: does rebooting restore the sound, and is lid closure a reliably result in the same problem?

Re: [SOLVED] No Soundcards found

Hi there - the machine goes into suspend. And rebooting does not solve the issue.

Re: [SOLVED] No Soundcards found

What is the output of dmesg for a boot where the soundcard is not detected?  What type of device is the soundcard is it enumerated in lspci / lsusb etc?

Re: [SOLVED] No Soundcards found

Solved - reversed the alsa-firmware and alsa-utils and reinstalled. Working fine now even on suspend.

I think I messed up on a config file when writing the alsa.conf file and had some spacing in there that shouldn't be smile
