Non KDE-5 QT-5 apps restore from system tray issue.

With QT-5 apps like Clementine and Qbittorrent I have a strange issue.

If I open the application and close it to the system tray, if I click to restore it the application doesn't show anything. No controls. Just a blank for. The application seems to function normally though (I can controll Qbittorent from web interface).

Both applications show a similar error upon restoring from system tray:

Clementine:

QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 16482, resource id: 65011722, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0

Qbittorrent:

qt.qpa.xcb: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 4666, resource id: 65011729, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0

Any thoughts?

X11 or wayland ?
If X11, post xorg log.

What videocard / driver ?
journal entries for those applications when things go wrong may also be useful.

Re: Non KDE-5 QT-5 apps restore from system tray issue.

I use X11. Xorg log file:

My car is an Intel HD Graphics 3000 integrated in the CPU with the i915 driver.

Journal:

I also noticed that the issue occurs only when closing the application from the "x". If I bring up from the tray by clicking the icon it opens just fine. Once I close it to tray, using the "x", it wont restore normally.

Re: Non KDE-5 QT-5 apps restore from system tray issue.

Do these applications have a "start to tray" or "minimize to tray" option ?

If not they may interpret clicking the X as quit instead of "close window".

Re: Non KDE-5 QT-5 apps restore from system tray issue.

I found the offending packet upgrade. It is from Qt5 5.11.0 to Qt5 5.11.1.

Now what? Report it upstream? Or is something not build against the new version of Qt?

https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/pack … s/qt5-base

Doesn't look like there has been a rebuild for qt 5.11.1 .
Best option now is to verify if a rebuild fixes the issue.
