Hey everyone,
I get a weird behavior of grub2 after installing Windows 7.
It loads up fine, but as soon as an entry should be booted, it simply outputs "error disk hd0,msdos1 not found". This also happens for every command on the rescue console,
so a simple "ls" just outputs "error disk hd0,msdos1 not found". Tab completion still works, though.
The system runs on legacy BIOS boot and not UEFI.
My partition layout is as follows:
lsblk
sda
sda1 (100MB, Windows Boot)
sda2 (Windows)
sda3 (some data)
sdb
sdb1 (/, including /boot)
sdb2 (home
So (hd0,msdos1) should point to sda1, not sure what and why grub expects something there.
Re-installing via grub-install --target=i386-pc /dev/sdb and re-generating the config file with grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg inside an arch-chroot was not successful either.
Any ideas where to look further? I'm pretty stuck now...
Here's the grub.cfg:

Nevermind, I solved the problem by simply installing syslinux.
