xorg 7.1

anyone get this working yet? i just compiled it based on the 7.1 pkgbuilds in the forums here, added the

arch=(i686 x86_64)

line to the PKGBUILDs and it runs ok, but when it boots there is no fonts showing.. gnome, firefox, etc.  if you hover the mouse over it it will appear but not before.

any ideas? smile

just found this in the xorg.log:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the GLX module; please check in your X
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     log file that the GLX module has been loaded in your X
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     server, and that the module is the NVIDIA GLX module.  If
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     you continue to encounter problems, Please try
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     reinstalling the NVIDIA driver.

when i was installing "libgl-dri" it said its files conflicted with the NVIDIA driver (libgl.so, libgl.so.1...) so i'm wondering if that's the problem.  i did a "pacman -f"  wink

any way around this? not use the nvidia-utils driver at all and just rely on possibly XGL for rendering?  what about other 3D apps how will they work?

thanks smile

Re: xorg 7.1

Xorg 7.1 introduces a new driver ABI and the nvidia drivers haven't been updated yet and font rendering is broken. I found setting RenderAccel to false worked for me but different people have different luck.
