Im currently migrating from my old laptop and now i wanna set up gnupg. I have all of my passwords stored with pass which encrypts them in '~/.password-store' with gnupg. I have already just shortly tested out simply copying my old '~/.gnupg' onto the new system, which works but gives me the message
gpg: WARNING: unsafe permissions on homedir '/home/$USER/.gnupg'
I would like to know how other people deal with the given problem. I like to keep it simple and dont want to use gnome keyrings or whatever else is "just working".
Also which files are absolutely necessary if i just copy the '~/.gnupg/'.

Fix the permissions? I'm not sure what other answer you're fishing for here.

~/.gnupg/ should have permissions 700. I'm guessing yours has 755.
This probably means you copied the data from your old system without keeping the original permissions and ownership. That may be fine, but keep it in mind.
