[solved] drm:amdgpu_pci_probe error stops computer from booting

Hi,

Yesterday, I did an update of the system through sudo pacman -Syu.
Today, my computer won't boot. I can't even switch from ttys. The error is: [drm:amdgpu_pci_probe [amdgpu]] *ERROR* Mixing atomic and non atomic capable GPUs! .
My hardware didn't change, so as usual, I suspected an update error. But I don't see any amd driver related update. So I guess it is not that?

I tried to update again from the archlinux CD. It didn't solve the problem... a mkinitcpio -p linux didn't solve my problem...

What could be the culprit?

Thanks

Paste the journal from the failed boot.

Moving to NC...

Re: [solved] drm:amdgpu_pci_probe error stops computer from booting

Hi @jasonwryan,

Thanks. But, I will look like a noob, but how do we do that? Knowing that I am using another OS on my machine and don't have access to journalctl?
Besides, I don't seem to have a boot.log file in /var/log....

Thanks

Re: [solved] drm:amdgpu_pci_probe error stops computer from booting

Thanks!
For some reason, even when I chrooted on the other system, it did not change  anything... I think I was displaying the journal of my other system...

Anyway, I am right now on a liveCD. I can access the journal with a chroot. For some reason, the last journal is completly empty.... But the previous one is not:

Re: [solved] drm:amdgpu_pci_probe error stops computer from booting

Btw, it was the complete log of the boot. So it does not get very far!

From the system's pacman.log what packages were included in the last update?

Re: [solved] drm:amdgpu_pci_probe error stops computer from booting

Hi @loqs,

Lots of packages where included. But linux was one of them. It seems that by upgrading to the kernel version of this week-end (4.17.8-1) fixed the problem. I am going to mark the problem as solved. Though, on the boot, I think the same error appears quickly before disappearing.

Thanks!
