I was using LXDE for 2 years and when I was hit by this curious thing I thought that moving to the more modern LXQT will fix it. But no!
I switched all available themes and widgets in LXDE then LXQT, no success.
Inside Chromium and another applications highlighting works. Arch it's updated to the latest, of course.
What can I do, folks?

What's your GTK3 theme? Make sure you use something that supports 3.22+

Are there any other problems besides Firefox not showing highlighted text? I've encountered a similar issue myself and I solved it by installing the Gnome icon theme.

I installed the gnome-icon-theme. I don't observe any other problems besides this.
Unfortunately, I switched themes a lot but no change.
At the moment the preferences in the LXQt Appearance Configuration are set this way:
Widget style is set to "cleanlooks", icons theme set to "GNOME (Default GNOME Theme)" and LXQt theme set to "Light".
Damn, I don't wanna use that reptilian unattractive Chromium...

I doubt that "Light" is an actual theme... Post your ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini and read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Un … plications

I was reading the "Uniform look" wiki page when reached the Breeze style.
I was thinking, hell yes, I must give it a shot: synced and my Firefox highlighting shined again!
I chose from there the Adwaita theme (working like a charm too), I put back my LXDE thing and now I'm a happy Firefox user!
Before this my only themes were Raleigh and deepin...
Thank you, guys!
