2 things: lilo VGA mode, and "greeter application crash
ok i'm setting vga=xxx in lilo.conf but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.
also most boots, gnome starts only to say the "greeter application appears to be crashing" trying another one, then defaults back to the ugly old looking basic one.

You run "lilo" again after any change?
