Hi,
After having no sound (see there: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … ht=#152040 ), I have some problems with sound again ..
When I'm listening to music (with amarok for instance), it seems to be played like in an aquarium o_O I can hear a great difference between the sound quality under arch and windows, and I don't understand why ..
More than that, I NEVER hear gaim or kopete sounds, I can't hear video sounds on youtube if amarok is launched, etc.. only one application can play sounds at a time ..
And last but not least, I can't seem to be able to use a microphone o_O
Maybe my problems are all related to a bad configuration, but anyway, it's quite annoying
in /etc/rc.conf
MODULES=(ndiswrapper nvnet snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm-oss)
(and alsa is in the daemons)

do you have the volume turned to 100percent in alsamixer? it should be at 70-80 or else the sound will sound crappy, because, my brother tells me, the value above that is artificial(can't find better word now) and is actually a software-upsampling of the sound and not a hw one.
(please correct if wrong)
this probably isn't the problem, but maybe it'll help someone else..
