After my last system update, I can't unlock the GDM lock screen (there's just a black screen and then the monitor shuts off). If I then suspend (pressing the power button) and un-suspend (power button again) I can log in as usual.
I see the following messages in the journalctl (with a few lines of context):
Aug 02 14:54:43 hp-lovecraft NetworkManager[26332]: <info> [1533236083.5645] manager: NetworkManager state is now CONNECTED_GLOBAL
Aug 02 14:56:58 hp-lovecraft gnome-shell[4454]: System monitor applet disable
Aug 02 14:57:03 hp-lovecraft gdm-password][8217]: pam_unix(gdm-password:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=/dev/tty2 ruser= rhost= user=dave
Aug 02 14:57:03 hp-lovecraft gdm-password][8217]: gkr-pam: the password for the login keyring was invalid.
Aug 02 14:57:07 hp-lovecraft systemd-logind[514]: Power key pressed.
Aug 02 14:57:07 hp-lovecraft NetworkManager[26332]: <info> [1533236227.9787] manager: sleep: sleep requested (sleeping: no enabled: yes)
Aug 02 14:57:07 hp-lovecraft NetworkManager[26332]: <info> [1533236227.9788] manager: NetworkManager state is now ASLEEP
From this I take that there's some problem with unlocking the login keyring but I'm not sure what that means and haven't encountered it before. I don't see anything that looks relevant in dmesg but I'm happy to paste that here too if it would be useful.
My last update DID include updates to gdm, libgdm, and gnome shell:
[2018-07-31 17:36] [ALPM] upgraded libgdm (3.28.2-1 -> 3.28.2+19+g161f3462-1)
[2018-07-31 17:36] [ALPM] upgraded gdm (3.28.2-1 -> 3.28.2+19+g161f3462-1)
[2018-07-31 17:36] [ALPM] upgraded gnome-shell (3.28.2-1 -> 3.28.3-1)
I searched on google/bbs.archlinux but didn't see anything that looked to be related. Any tips in how to proceed in understanding what's going on would be appreciated!

This has, somehow, resolved itself (after a hard shutdown and reboot, which I could have sworn I'd tried already...)
