Re: Problems with RTL8153 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

I don't know how to help, but I am having a very similar problem. I have a usb-ethernet adapter plugged into a usb hub which is part of my monitor. The monitor is then connected to my laptop. My ethernet fails to work after my computer wakes up from being suspended. My dmesg contains this line, over and over again:

r8152 2-1.4:1.0 wire0: Stop submitting intr, status -71

wire0 is my name for my ethernet interface. I have a way of getting around the problem though. First I powercycle my monitor. Then I run the following:

$ sudo ip link set wire0 up
$ sudo systemctl start dhcpcd@wire0

And after this, my ethernet works again. And in case it matters, I'm running kernel version 4.18.7.
