Remmina works to connect to my Windows systems. However, it's not as nice in a KDE environment as KRDC is.
KRDC works fine with VNC servers.
With RDP though, it shows the connection settings dialog, then KRDC window resizes down to the corner and no connections. I haven't found a way to find logs and there is no output in the terminal. Perhaps I'm missing a library or some other supporting program? Does anyone know where I can find the program's logs?

Did you find out the problem in the end?
I'm having the same problem, but xfreerdp connects normally.
The only relevant log i get is:
qt.qpa.xcb: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 2 (BadValue), sequence: 28804, resource id: 79691777, major code: 142 (Unknown), minor code: 3

Use the following command to debug:
QT_LOGGING_RULES="*.debug=true" krdc
Search for xfreerdp in the output. My problem was that the password I've entered was wrong and there was no notification in krdc ...

OK, I've been putting up with this for over a year, and finally decided that it can't be a significant bug in KRDC, or it would have been fixed by now. Using the debug config kindly provided above by schnere, I discovered the exact xfreerdp flag that was causing the failure:
The solution, at least for me, is to clear the "Share Media" configuration for the connection in KRDC. My KRDC was defaulting to mapping /media, but that directory no longer exists in current Arch.
