laptop shutdown unexpectedly when battery is not low

Hello guys good day!
I have installed arch linux xfce4 version everything is working fine, but sometimes my HP-Notebook will shutdown randomly even if my battery is around 70-80%. Windows 10 was there, so I remove it and put arch there with systemd-boot uefi.

Please help.
Thank you!

Re: laptop shutdown unexpectedly when battery is not low

What desktop environment are you using?
Does it do an orderly shutdown? Or does the power just shut off leaving the file systems dirty?
How are you determining that the batteries are at 70-80%?

Please make an effort to answer all questions asked.  You seem to have missed the two that I'd also be most interested in: is it a normal shutdown, or a sudden power-off, and how/where are you getting the 80% value?

It's a sudden power -off I get the 80% value from the battery status on the xfce4 power management panel before it shutdown I normally check the battery level

Re: laptop shutdown unexpectedly when battery is not low

I had the same happen to my laptop this week. The laptop is new so I used it the first time in battery mode. Worked at least an hour, battery was down at about 70%. Then suddenly laptop does a regular shut down (KDE Desktop).
What I could figure out is that the nouveau driver locked up. The KDE<->display server connection was mentioned as broken. Everything works fine if the power cable is plugged in.
Perhaps it has to do with the graphics driver in your case.

Re: laptop shutdown unexpectedly when battery is not low

I also have a weird battery issue on my new Eurocom Q6. I can start the system on AC power and the machine works fine. On battery, I get to the log on manager and enter my password, the "loading" plasma desktop screen comes up and my computer shuts down completely before I see the desktop. This happens no matter what the battery state is. Struggling to solve this one.

Please open up your own threads and post more details on the exact hardware and software in use. As the OP has been banned it's unlikely he can contribute here, and both of your follow up questions lack the necessary depth to be properly able to help you.

Closing.
