Pulseaudio re-enables built-in audio

Hello everybody,

since the  update from version 11.1 to version 12.0, pulseaudio re-enables the built-in soundcard of my Lenovo Thinkpad T430, although it is disabled.

I'm using an external soundcard due to sound quality. The Built-in Audio is "Off" in the Volume Control of Pulseaudio and the external soundcard is set to "Analog Stereo Output".

If the external soundcard is switched off (has no power) and any sound is played, for example in Firefox on Youtube, Pulseaudio re-enables the Built-in Audio (which should stay "Off").

How do I forbid Pulseaudio to re-enable the Built-in Audio?
Whats the most simple solution?

Thanks in advance!

Simples solution I can think of, would be blacklisting the kernel modules for your internal sound card.

Apart from that, have you tried 'pacmd kill-sink-input <index>'?

Re: Pulseaudio re-enables built-in audio

I think it is a completely unacceptable behaviour to enable a setting which has been set manually to "off". I will file a bug against PulseAudio.
