Systemwide UMASK set to 0077 but applications do create with different

Hi guys,

I was wondering, if a download with Firefox (or a newly created file with any program) should have the UMASK 0077 when the UMASK is set in bashrc to 0077. Because right now my files are created with a different UMASK when I create them with an application.

How do I get programs to follow the systemwide UMASK set in bashrc? Is this a bug?

FYI when I touch a file the UMASK is set correct.

kind regards,
  Chris
