arm-linux-gnueabihf-binutils

Hi forum,

I'm trying to set this package up, but it seems that is not available.

-> Download di binutils-2.30.tar.xz in corso...
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current
Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed
  0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 --:--:-- 0:01:31 --:--:-- 0^C
==> ERROR: Aborted by user! Exiting...

It's evident that after 90 seconds didn't start anything. I've already tried three time today, with same conditions.

ftp.gnu.org doesn't seem to be responding, so download it from a mirror instead.

Side note: Cross-compiling is a black art to me, but binutils is now at 2.31.1, so that package should probably be flagged OOD.

Re: arm-linux-gnueabihf-binutils

I got it working. But there are strange stages/conflicts to have that installed. I'll write to the maintainer.
Well the black art is necessary to overcome the load that it will take with an ARM MCU. Perhaps, there could be some risks which might mislead the compilation and/or results.
I think I should look for distcc.
