I have previewing configured in ranger but it does not work when I run ranger as root. ie "sudo ranger"
My scope.sh is the default example one and by rc.conf says
set preview_images true
How do I configure it so that I have previews in ranger even when I run as root?

Link your user's ranger.rc to root's?

Previews are forced disabled in code for root in file: ranger/core/main.py
if fm.username == 'root':
fm.settings.preview_files = False
fm.settings.use_preview_script = False
fm.log.appendleft("Running as root, disabling the file previews.")

Thanks for sharing. I have no idea if this was the case in 2014, but if it was, I'd hope that OP figured it out by now.
