Vmware auto resize doesn't work

Though I have installed open-vm-tools and started vmtoolsd, auto resize doesn't work. Desktop: gnome. I have installed gtkmm and gtk 2, set

/etc/mkinitcpio.conf
MODULES="vsock vmw_vsock_vmci_transport vmw_balloon vmw_vmci vmwgfx"

In the dmesg I found

[drm:vmw_stdu_crtc_page_flip [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Page flip error -16.

Re: Vmware auto resize doesn't work

I believe you have to start and enable the open-vm-tools service

Re: Vmware auto resize doesn't work

There is no such service. However, there is vmtoolsd service enabled and running.

Re: Vmware auto resize doesn't work

Yes thats the service that should be running.
I will see if i can recreate this problem later today or tommorow
You should take a look at this page (if you have not already done so)

Re: Vmware auto resize doesn't work

Don't forget to follow the "Xorg Configuration" section of the wiki:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VM … as_a_guest

Specifically, install the dependencies: xf86-input-vmmouse, xf86-video-vmware, and mesa.

I somehow overlook that section every time I build a new arch machine in vmware.
