Cannot start steam after update

Hi,
after the latest steam update, steam will not start. Normally i start with steam-native and there are no problems.

Tried to run steam and steam-native:

 steam

/home/yat/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable
/home/yat/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable
Running Steam on arch 64-bit
/home/yat/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Pins up-to-date!
steam-native

/home/yat/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable
/home/yat/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable
Running Steam on arch 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is disabled by the user

Anyone have the same problem? Tried reinstalling steam, didn't work.

Re: Cannot start steam after update

Same issue. Everything was working, upgraded (-Syu) and the 4.18.1 kernel has some weird issues with my mouse so I rolled back the kernel and nvidia driver. Now steam, steam-native and steam-runtime all die silently. Tried re-installing steam and steam-native-runtime as well as removing the steam stuff under .local with no luck.
