A strange thing happens when trying to work with the 2.6.3 and 2.6.4 kernels on my Compaq Evo N600c laptop. When the login prompt appears, it is not possible to type. They keyboard is completely unresponsive. This does not take place with the 2.4.24/2.4.25 kernels.
I have tried:
- booting with no ACPI and APM
- 'single' booting to avoid loading any extraneous drivers
This behavior doesn't change with any of these boot changes.
Has anyone else experienced this or heard of this? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Win

Thanks Xentac.
I had tried various (more complex) Google searches -- always with 'linux' and 'kernel' -- but your query hit the jackpot.
After two BIOS upgrades, the laptop humming along under kernel24 and kernel26.
