{suggestion}forum-oriented programming development

Hi,

Here is the process

1. choose Subject of project(language, category)
2. start code on this phpbb
3. anybody can join this project

For example, think about "hello.c"!
Due to the character of phpbb, i think the project should be small.

How do you think?

Re: {suggestion}forum-oriented programming development

i thought about doing this kind of thing for music. you have online bands people just record loops for instruments and post them somewhere then if someone else in interested in playing another instrument because they like how your loop sounds then they can play something and post it, and eventually you'd have a song.

This has actually been done, in a way, but I don't remember the site. They allowed artists to post various tracks under a creative commons license and then other artists could remix or add to them as they liked.

Google is your friend, I found it!

Fine if you are creating your own forum.  But if you are suggesting we do that here then it's an horrific idea!

yes or no,

Problem is only the time is come earlier then expected.
I for one, doesn't need any of existing forum threads.(PS: means that i am very happy arch user with no problem, atm)

I would rm -rf existing archlinux bbs threads for HDD space saving, ONLY if THIS server is mine.

IMHO, the knowledge is already is mine, no more need to existing in phpbb, it must be processed by KE(knowledge engineering), should go to PDF file or something.

I've got now idea what you are talking about so let me just rephrase my previous post.  Please do not use these forums for the purpose you have described as it will spam up the database.  Please consider getting a berlios or sourceforge account with CVS/SVN hosting to develop code.  That clear enough?

Re: {suggestion}forum-oriented programming development

one-small-project should be fine, or hybrid style(server exist on other site) as you said.
How about this kind of board?

PS:
this kind of concept, though it is not about programming, it's about chess

Re: {suggestion}forum-oriented programming development

I'm really finding massive WTF's running through my head now, this makes no sense. Why not create a wiki or open source project or anything else, what's the point of using a forum for something its not intended for????

the problem is that what you seem to be describing is a CVS/SVN thing in which case it would be awkward at best
