"Failed to unmount /oldroot" on shutdown ...again!

This was apparently fixed some time ago (see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=233820&p=2) but I'm getting it again since a few weeks.:

Starting Power-Off...
sd-umoun[17911]: Failed to unmount /oldroot: Device or resource busy
sd-umoun[17912]: Failed to unmount /oldroot/dev: Device or resource busy

Anybody else here with this issue?

I've been getting this on 4.18 since the last update too. I guess it will get fixed in another update or two.

To be honest, it was never fixed for me. There was just less amount of this messages during the shutdown after the commit, about 2-3. Pre-patch 10-15 maybe.

Since is not really harmful I just don't care and ignore.

Not sure, but if you're getting this since kernel 4.18 it might be due to the bpfilter helper having open fds on your rootfs, and thus preventing umounting it -- which I believe might be a kernel bug. See FS#59833.
