[SOLVED] $DM_NAME returns rpc.idmapd
I have lxdm as my display manager, and my system boots from a local drive. However, $DM_NAME is set to rpc.idmapd, which makes no sense to me.
Whilst there are no apparent ill effects, what could be the cause?

A cursory googler for that env variable reveals that this variable is used by the device mapper/dm-crypt and the like and should have no relevance to any display manager.

I found it was used for NFS, but still, nothing to do with the DM, and so why is $DM_NAME set to it?

Why do you think DM_NAME as in Device Mapper Name has anything to do with a DM as in Display Manager? Or do you want to know why it is set in the first place? As it's your system configuration that might be something you've set up?

Ahh, wait, it's locally set by a script when I'm seeing it. Ignore me.
