gtk+2 applications - fonts (in)visible?

hello,

i am having a strange problem w/ all gtk+ applications (tested with ekiga, firefox, nicotine, gimp). fonts randomly disappear and reappear when i mouse over the blank areas. you can watch this behaviour well at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-rfhWdWu-U

have you seen anything like this before? any suggestions?

thank you. downgrading cairo really helped. however i cannot run nicotine now(python-gtk dependency i guess). never mind, will humbly wait for the new cairo w/ the fix included. cheers, joe
